Colt single action army model 1873, aka "Peacemaker".

The action is like a sewing machine. Buttery. The only small gripe is that the ejector rod has a little burring in its cammed track, so it won't eject as smoothly until it gets some use.

It’s a completely 1:1 replica of the colt, with the exception of the cylinder pin, some stampings, and a “safed” hammer design to prevent accidental fire. It even has the colt patent date stamp on it.

Now you need to read THE DARK TOWER

I have 80s edition paperbacks of the first four books, iirc. Seriously considered posting this with "I do not aim with my eye, for he who aims with his eye has forgotten the face of his father."

I love anything vintage/vintage style action. I am also not made out of money. Thus, I am a huge fan of these Italian replicas.

Oh, that’s purty.

Uberti is a better buy than Colt change my mind
PS you need to have someone engrave it
![]() 02/28/2019 at 20:13 |

If for no other reason than it’s cheaper to be an asshat fanning the hammer, buy a replacement cylinder , and spend only $70.

You see the other pics I put in replies?

I think that is known as “color case hardened” or “case hardened”. The cylinder is blued, however. I appreciate a case hardened finish, it
can be
a thing of beauty.
![]() 02/28/2019 at 23:18 |

Yeah, it’s described as case hardened, or iirc if done very heavily as a “bone and cinder” finish, or something like that. It’s not technically a tank bluing, but it is a surface passivation and carburizing process.
If we want to be technical, I think the barrel and cylinder are parkerized, vs. an older boil process for a thin blue or revolutionary war era browning - which I think is still technically referred to as a bluing process.
I used to have my surface treatments a lot more readily to mind...

sry was trying to hijack this into a “show off your guns” thread
![]() 03/01/2019 at 11:15 |

nitpick- that’s “color case hardening,” not patina. old, old method of surface hardening steel.

No problem. I’ve posted my Iver and my Browning on here before, but didn’t feel like looking for the pics, and I don’t have any other
pistola
s to post.
